The Airport District consists of 7 persons, 6 of whom are citizens and residents of Bay County, and 1 of whom is a citizen and resident of Walton County. The Airport District was created for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, financing, operating and maintaining airport projects and any other development of land owned or leased by the district and necessary to the economic welfare of the inhabitants of the district and which will promote the economic, commercial and industrial development of the district.
The Panama City-Bay County Airport and Industrial District (Airport District) is an authority created and established as a political subdivision by Special Act of the Florida Legislature in 1945.
